Common Auto Schedule Problems
Why is Auto Schedule partial?
Compatible employee-hours or scheduling constraints can leave slots uncovered.
Why did the generator ignore one employee demand?
The coverage-focused version may allow lower-priority demand conflicts.
Why is an employee not assigned despite having free hours?
Skill, workstation and time compatibility must also match.
Why does the schedule contain a split shift?
Coverage and employee constraints can outweigh the preference for continuous shifts.
Why can't my driver use a warehouse vehicle?
The Delivery Driver skill must meet the vehicle requirement.
Do I need to hire another employee?
Check whether uncovered hours are a labor shortfall or only a scheduling problem.
How Auto Scheduling Works in Big Ambitions
Workstation coverage comes first. Opening hours and active workstation slots define the required employee-hours. Each slot can receive at most one employee.
Employees must be compatible and available. The generator checks role, workstation threshold, availability, weekly limits, overlaps and the 12-hour daily maximum.
Employee demands can change the solution. Demand-friendly scheduling avoids entered restrictions. Coverage-focused scheduling may accept lower-priority conflicts without relaxing hard limits.
A partial schedule does not always mean you need more employees. Compatible hours can be sufficient overall while the wrong roles or time windows still create gaps.
Generation and diagnosis are separate tools. This page creates and explains a weekly assignment. Use Staffing Planner first when you need to diagnose capacity.
How the schedule generator works
Each employee, hour and workstation becomes a scheduling constraint. The generator prevents overlaps, enforces compatibility and limits, then prefers continuous assignments while comparing both scheduling goals.
