How Product Demand Works in Big Ambitions
Demand is neighborhood-specific. Big Ambitions keeps product market conditions inside each neighborhood. Burger in Midtown can therefore have a different provider count and active event from the same product elsewhere.
Providers create competitive pressure. The calculation cares about businesses supplying the product in that neighborhood. Your stores and other businesses can both count, so opening a second location can change the same market you already serve.
Products tolerate different provider counts. Each product has its own typical provider count. Adding more providers than that reference increases competitive pressure, but staying below it does not guarantee profit.
Market events temporarily modify demand. Events such as Hype and Product Backorder add their effect after provider pressure, with the visible result capped at 100. Demand remains only one input into actual sales.
