Factory · Production operations
Set up production, find recipes and machines, plan factory output, compare manufacturing with importing, and fix production or delivery problems.
A healthy factory can still leave stores empty when storage, destinations or delivery routes become the bottleneck.

This quick comparison uses current base wholesale ingredient values. It does not include payroll, rent, factory overhead, downtime or distribution.
Factory Worker output scales with skill level. Satisfaction does not change this production formula.
View Factory Worker skill →Recipe output follows round(recipe output × (0.5 + skill / 200)). The current scenario uses Skill 60.

|---|---|
| 0 | 100 |

| 50 | 150 |
| 75 | 175 |

Plan Production
Plan multiple workstations, workers and recipe allocations.
Find the First Blocker
Production checks run in operational order. The first failed condition is the most useful place to investigate.
Is the factory actually producing finished goods?
No — the factory is not producingYes — production works, but the store is still empty →

Supply-chain diagnosis
Use the status checks to separate ingredient, production, storage and delivery problems.
Diagnose Logistics →Compare material cost before adding labor, rent and logistics.
| Symptom | First check | Destination |
|---|---|---|
| My factory workstation is not producing | Check business status, worker assignment, ingredients, output space and production limits. | Likely blocker |
| The workstation has ingredients but does nothing | Make sure a compatible Factory Worker is assigned during the current hour. | Likely blocker |
| Production stopped even though nothing changed | Check output storage and Produce Up To limits. | Likely blocker |
| My factory output is lower than the recipe says | Factory Worker skill scales effective recipe output. | Compare make vs buy |
| Manufacturing seems more expensive than importing | Compare material cost before adding labor, rent and logistics. | Compare make vs buy |
| I cannot find the recipe for an item | The item may not be factory-manufacturable or may use a different workstation. | Recipe finder |
| My factory produces goods but stores still run out | Check warehouse inventory, delivery routes and logistics capacity. | Supply-chain diagnosis |
Recipe → ingredients → machines
Recipes define ingredients and output. Every factory recipe turns one or more ingredients into a fixed output per batch. The Recipe Finder works in both directions: an output finds its recipe, and an ingredient finds the products that use it.
Each recipe belongs to a compatible workstation. Food, consumer goods, bottled goods, clothing, garden, electronics and jewelry production use different assembly and production-machine families. A valid recipe still needs its matching equipment to operate.
Factory Worker skill changes actual recipe output. Higher Factory Worker skill increases production output. Output grows from 50% at Skill 0 to 100% at Skill 100, and employee satisfaction does not change it further.
Production also depends on storage and distribution. An open factory with workers and ingredients can stop when output space is full or a Produce Up To limit is reached. After production, warehouse stock, Logistics Manager destination capacity, vehicles and delivery routes determine whether finished goods reach a selling business.
