Can This Product Run Here?
Check whether a product can run on a workstation before building the production line.

Frozen Food
Frozen Food can run on Food Production.
Required machine chain
Confirm these machines are placed in the factory. If the setup is compatible but still idle, diagnose the factory operation.
Workstation vs Machine vs Recipe
These four parts are easy to confuse, but each one decides something different.
- Workstation
- Decides which recipe family can run.
- Recipe
- Decides which product is made and which inputs it needs.
- Machines
- The production chain that recipe requires.
- Factory Worker
- Operates production and scales effective recipe output.
A factory can contain multiple production paths. Each product still needs a compatible recipe, workstation and machine chain.

Common Setup Questions
Setup Looks Right But Nothing Is Produced?
The recipe and machine chain are compatible. If production is still idle, check workers, ingredients, storage and production limits.
How Factory Workstations and Machines Work
Workstations gate recipe families. A workstation only runs the recipes assigned to its group. A Food Production workstation cannot run an Electronics recipe just because both machines stand in the same factory.
The machine chain depends on the recipe. Each recipe records the machines it actually uses. Two recipes from the same workstation group can require a different chain, so select the product before buying equipment.
A factory can run several production paths. One building can host multiple workstations and products at once. Each product still needs a compatible recipe, the right workstation and its own machine chain.
Compatibility is not the same as output. A compatible setup can still stay idle because of workers, ingredients, storage or production limits. This page covers equipment compatibility; diagnose the running factory separately.
